So. In the aftermath of yesterday's little blowup, let's see if I can clarify one of the new rules.

Mute and Luvvy are both currently banned from even mentioning their relationship in chat. The specific types of comments that are banned are anything "cutesy" - which includes the poetic one about fireworks. Since I'm not convinced that Luvvy can tell the difference between acceptable and unacceptable, I thought it might be easier to just ban all of them.

This does not mean that anyone else needs to fit their comments to the above ban. The rest of you may carry on as you were before.

Why Mute and Luvvy?

Two weeks ago, the two of them decided that they wanted to "test my patience." The means by which they decided to do this was to be excessively cutesy in the channel for days on end. This eventually drove everyone else insane. What this means now is that any time I see a comment that is even remotely similar to those, I become very highly annoyed. As it was my patience in particular they were testing, I think it's fair for my personal annoyance level to be what most counts now.

I read scrollup. I don't want to see it at all. So the ban is in effect all 24 hours, whether or not I'm there at the time. I'll consider lifting the ban in six months or so.

Questions are welcome either as a comment here or in a PM on ircstorm. I'm really not interested in having another "discussion" in the main chat like yesterday's.
