Nanowrimo 2006
Nov. 1st, 2006 12:50 amSince I'm not entirely sure that my home computer is going to be reliable, I've decided to do my Nanowrimo in Lifejournal - which seems to have an autosave feature that happens at least once every 30 seconds or something.
The computer was in the shop because it would suddenly, inexplicably shut down. Turned out to be a power supply problem. It's been replaced and now it's back home, but I don't particularly want to lose writing to unexpected shutdowns (or any other work-losing issues).
And now to make things even more aggravating, my wireless keyboard has stopped working for no reason. I'm hoping it'll magically start working again at some point, but if not I might need to get a new one. At the moment I'm using my Alphasmart as my keyboard.
Anyway, the whole point of this entry is to say that if anyone wants to follow along with my efforts this year, let me know and I'll add you to the lucky special group where I'll be putting it. Be warned that it'll be chock full of extremely long, (hopefully) daily posts (and possibly more than once per day). I'll be putting up a second copy in my RPoL game for people to follow along there as well (at least a couple people are planning to; they liked my 2004 efforts and keep coming back, so I must be doing something right. ;) ). As always, constructive criticisms are welcome (just reply to the individual entries).

Date: 2006-11-01 08:26 pm (UTC)Just keep in mind that I'm making it up as I go along so things won't necessarily make a whole lot of sense...

Date: 2006-11-02 07:08 pm (UTC)I'm all for creative suggestions and general ideas if you have any! :) As long as you aren't upset if I don't necessarily use everything you come up with. There are often times when I'm stuck on what to write next, and it's always good to know if I've left key content out of the picture (which is more of a problem for me than too much filler). For example, there's two scenes written and posted now, and I'm indecisive whether there should be a third (or more) scene(s) to further flesh out Janis, or whether I should just get on with the next plot point.
If you want to critique and/or discuss any of my past efforts, I have a whole RPoL game for it (Detroit, Vampire section, inquire within ;) ). Those two might turn out to be better reads than this year's at the rate I'm going so far...
