Q: "I note that you neither confirm nor deny that your politics are scary and insane."
Steve Brust's reply: "Well, let me answer that. In terms of scary and/or insane, I should state that, politically, I've always held that the reality of frightening options involves firm opinions that we hold in terms of closely-guarded sanity with reference to those stands and opinions that involve or refer to matters that may have an influence on the positions we hold which may be regarded in some circles as those which have the potential to move our present situation in a direction that can only be considered, after close analysis, to be those which are most likely to tend toward making a difference that will be obviously seen by an impartial observer to address the questions [that] can be considered on those terms.
